Wood briquettes, Heat logs made of compressed wood shavings and sawdust are eco fuel - environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels. Fossil fuels such as diesel, petrol, home heating oil (kerosene), coal, peat etc. are great factor for the excessive CO2 emissions in the atmosphere, which in turn exacerbates the global warming. Wood briquettes produce higher heat output compared to the regular firewood, they have lower moisture content and thus are more efficient home heating source than regular firewood. The Eco Logs have very low moisture content, usually less than 10% which is 2.5 - 3 times lower than the moisture content in kiln dried firewood, which usually contains about 25% - 30% moisture. Fresh chopped firewood would have moisture content over 50%. Burning very moist wood fuel means that a lot of the energy would be directed to evaporating the water content first and then the residual energy will utilized as useful heat output.
The lower moisture content in the heat logs - wood briquettes makes them very efficient eco fuel, producing more heating output on weight for weight basis than natural firewood. The Lower moisture content makes them sparkless home heating fuel as well. The production process of compressing natural wood shavings and sawdust, especially the process of extrusion makes the eco logs denser wood fuel than regular firewood, thus one would need fewer eco fire logs to achieve the same heat output. The heat produced from the eco logs is 2 to 4 times higher than the normal firewood. Wood fuel with better efficiency along with the environmental benefits brings savings during the cold winter days.
